Med School Music invites you to download an exclusive copy of their upcoming release by Lakeway.
Lakeway’s tale of misadventure continues with the second instalment of his synth-wave and instrumental grime inspired drum & bass. ‘The Misadventures of Lakeway Part 2’ includes three tracks of cross-genre experimentation and meddling bass infusions. This EP is also the final release on Hospital Records’ sister label Med School, following the label’s recent closure announcement. Keep an eye out for the future ‘Misadventures of Lakeway’ on Diffrent Music in 2020.
Heading up the second set of misadventures is ‘Can’t Beg’ - bittersweet vocals from Rubi Elle glide over dark synths and hypnotic arpeggios. The haunting stepper ‘No Regrets’ is coated in icy soundscapes with rattling percussion and jungle influences. ‘Tearful Tripper’ is littered with heavyweight percussion, and is a testament to Lakeway’s reputation as a fearless beatsmith.
This winter Lakeway can be found bringing his unique style to Prague’s Roxy nightclub, he’ll also be representing the Med School family for the final time across shows in London, Bristol and Cornwall.
Following his third album ‘Popular Mechanics’ the Sydney-based drum & bass innovator Royalston has his final release on Med School, the ‘Voodoo Love Dance’ EP. It’s filled with his experimental drum & bass stylings that draw for techno grooves, trance and electronica featuring the enchanting vocals of Etherwood and production wizardry of his cousin Pearse-Hawkins.
Royalston can be found flying the flag for Med School on the official 2019 Med School Australia and New Zealand tour alongside Whiney, Keeno, Degs and Unglued. Over the last decade, Royalston has continued to be one of the most exciting producers in drum & bass, as well as a talented illustrator and animator. He’s previously received praise from across the scene including the likes of Zinc, S.P.Y, Roni Size, Grafix, Bop, BCee, Urbandawn and many more.
After firmly establishing his name in drum & bass with two game-changing albums Whiney presents his new release, ‘Stop The Clock’ alongside B-side ‘Breadcrumbs’ that features the microfunk mastermind, Bop.
Whiney’s outstanding second album ‘Waystone’ was an exciting concoction of influences with drum & bass fusions of grime, UK hip-hop, trip-hop and ambient. He continues to hit with full force in ‘Stop The Clock’ with its ferocious growls and hypnotising beats, primed to go off like a ticking time bomb at raves across the globe.
‘Breadcrumbs’ is an explosive collaboration with fellow Med School marvel Bop. This electronic voyage echos techno-infused drum & bass with Bop’s extraterrestrial soundscapes and Whiney’s fearless bass-heavy beats.
Whiney can be found bringing first-class sets worldwide with an Australia and New Zealand tour as well as shows across The Netherlands, Austria, The Czech Republic and landing down in London with the Med School family at the 2019 edition of Hospitality In The Park.
