RAM Records Raiser & Axel Boy/Picota & Kumbh - Sacrifice / The Mummy/Voltage-Black Mamba

Whilst rooted in drum & bass, Raiser refuses to conform to any rules when it comes to its production - firmly molding the music his way. Alongside Bristol bass titan Axel Boy, the duo comes to Ram Records with ‘Back Off,’ an energetic, brash workout that traverses drum & bass, house and bass - with each producer leaving their trademark stamp on the track. Raiser’s first outing of 2019 is one that is certain to reverberate across the electronic music spectrum – refusing to ‘Back Off.’

The next act welcomed into the ProgRAM family is actually real life family: brothers Alfredo and Alberto aka Picota & Kumbh make their label debut with a heavyweight two-tracker. ‘Sacrifice’ rolls steadily with dark, growling synth patches and tight percussive drums, swiftly followed by the moody, warped bass of ‘The Mummy.’ Both tracks showcase this up-and-coming duo’s ear for crafting stripped back, atmospheric tech beats. 2019 is in full swing and the label continues to flourish. Picota & Kumbh are the latest recruits to get with the ProgRAM...

Good things come to those who wait, and it’s over 2 years since Andy C debuted ‘Bad Boy Selection’ during his first XOYO residency. That patience is rewarded as the in-demand dub makes up part of Voltage’s three-track ‘Black Mamba’ EP. From the title track - all shuffling breaks, subtle rumbling low end and a unique lead synth pattern – Voltage brings his distinctive style to his RAM release. ‘Bad Boy Selection’ rolls drawn out bass notes and a rugged vocal sample, while ‘Between The Lines’ switches the vibe, combining grittiness and soulfulness in equal measure. In true Voltage fashion – get your cricket bats ready for the ‘Black Mamba’ EP.
